Error Check Directions

1. Go to the "Start" menu and click on "My Computer"
2. Right-click on "Local Disk (C:)" and select "Properties"
3. Left-click on the "Tools" tab
4. Left-click "Check Now" button
5. Left-click both check boxes
6. Left-click "Start" button
7. A dialog box will pop up and ask to schedule the disk check to occur the next time you restart.
8. Left-click "Yes" button
9. Restart your computer.

 

Defragmentation Directions

1. Go to the "Start" menu and click on "My Computer"
2. Right-click on "Local Disk (C:)" and select "Properties"
3. Left-click on the "Tools" tab
4. Left-click "Defragment Now..."
5. In Disk Defragmenter window, left-click "Analyze" button
6. When analysis is complete you will be told whether or not your hard drive needs to be defragmented. If defrag is needed, left-click "Defragment" button. The defrag process can take up to 1 hour to complete.
