2008 Summer Theatre and Drama Camp

     The Old Michie Theatre, now in its 19th year of providing drama instruction and puppetry arts for children and youth, sponsors a Summer Theatre School throughout June, July and August. Each session is geared to awaken individual talents and freedom of self-expression through staging a play and performance workshops. All instruction emphasizes fun and learning.

The Old Michie Theatre offers a variety of Summer Theatre classes for different age groups and all levels of ability, with tuition ranging from $175 to $360. Sessions vary from beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of instruction as follows:

     Pre-Theatre (ages 5-7)

          9:00-12:00 Morning Session

Dates: June 16-20

     Puppeteer's Paradiseä (Ages 5-7)

          9:00-12:00 p.m.  Morning Session

          Dates: June 23-27

Fairytale Theatre Camp!ä (Ages 6-9)

1:00-4:00 p.m. Afternoon Session

Dates: June 16-20

Theatre Camp (ages 8-13; Advanced 7-year olds need permission of Artistic Director)

          Session I: July 14- July 25

          Session II: July 28 – August 8

            Shake Hands with Shakespeareä (ages 9-14)

Incredible Improvisation!ä (Advanced- Ages 12-16)

Instructor: Duncan Gale is back!

This workshop focuses on the art of improvisation and dramatic comedy using advanced theatre games and acting techniques.
